Today’s photo from Thailand. . . . I’ve met this chap a few times now, always in the grounds of a Buddhist temple. His presence never fails to put a smile on my face, so I’d like to share his company with you, too….. He is inviting you to slip a donation into the coffin at his feet. It’s to pay for the funerals of the deceased (specifically for their coffins) too poor to finance their own final farewell.

Outside of the NT the evidence for the existence of Jesus is extremely weak at best. If Jesus existed and actually rose from the dead, the accounts in the four gospels would be different from what they portray. If you saw a man crucified to death, appear after he had been buried, would you ever forget who was the first to see him and what he said to them? It would be boldly stamped in a person’s mind. However, we do not have a plausible narrative of the events between the resurrection and the ascension. We are told Cephas was the first to see him. On the other hand the writings insist Mary Magdalene was the first. The women left the tomb and nothing. The women left the tomb and blazed it everywhere. It’s worth noting that Christ risen, NEVER appears in Mark the earliest Gospel. Jesus would not be seen by anyone unless they went to Galilee. But Jesus is seen many time in Jerusalem. That a dead body walked out of a tomb alive or a dead body was resuscitated to living human is foreign to Paul. That myth was developed after Paul died.
