Following is an excerpt and two YouTube video clip links from a Queensland Greens notice to party members concerning the coming election:
You’ve all heard the phrase: “I’d love to vote for the Greens, but I don’t want to waste my vote”. Many people don’t understand the way their preferences really work. They don’t realise they can effectively vote twice by voting 1 the Greens and then the major party of their choice after us. Our polling has confirmed that many people think they are helping the Greens by putting us as number two on their ballot – unfortunately this is not the case.We urgently need your help to reassure people that voting 1 the Greens will not be a wasted vote.
We believe this may be the single most effective way to increase our votes in the House of Representatives and in the Senate.
Through a generous donation of time and resources from Able2 videos on the Gold Coast, we now have a professional and engaging preference education ad that is available for our use. You can the see them here:
(you’d think explaining the preferential voting system should be a government, not a party, expense, wouldn’t ya! 🙁
I think Mark Latham had it right in his latest broadside against Labor. A Rudd government will be nothing more than another Blair sellout. Unless we can persuade Julia Gillard to go for a leadership challenge!
