| 244 | Aus der Verwirrung und Unordnung, die die spätern Compilatoren durch die übereilte Verfolgung ihrer eigenen Interessen, durch die gewaltsame Einfügung des neuen von ihnen vorgefundenen Stoffs und sehr oft aus bloßer Unachtsamkeit im Urbericht angestiftet haben, hat sich uns der Plan desselben ergeben. Wir haben ihn bereits ausführlich daraeftellt, werden daher nur kurz an ihn erinnern und sogleich zur Beantwortung der Frage übergehen, ob der Verfasser des gegenwärtigen Marcusevangeliums den Urbericht geschaffen oder gleichfalls nur vorgefunden hat.
Nachdem im ersten Abschnitt (Marc. C. 4, 44—45) die Berufung der ersten Jünger das Band zwischen Jesus und Kapernaum geknüpft hat, folgen im zweiten (C. 2, 4—3, 6) die Collisionen mit dem Gesetz und den jüdischen Obern — im dritten (C. 3, 7 — 4, 36) erreicht der Kampf die Spitze, die er für jetzt erreichen konnte — im vierten (C. 4, 37 — 5, 43) beweist Jesus, nachdem er seine Ueberlegenheit über das jüdische Volkswesen glänzend bewährt hat, in einer Reihe colossaler Wunder seine Uebermacht über die Empörung und den Eigenwillen der Natur. |
From the confusion and disorder which the later compilers have instigated in the original Gospel through the over-zealous pursuit of their own interests, through the violent insertion of the new material they have found, and very often through mere carelessness, the plan of the same has been revealed to us. We have already presented it in detail, so we will only briefly remind you of it and immediately proceed to answer the question of whether the author of the present Gospel of Marcuse created the original report or only found it.
After in the first section (Mark C. 4, 44-45) the calling of the first disciples has tied the bond between Jesus and Capernaum, in the second (C. 2, 4-3, 6) follow the collisions with the law and the Jewish superiors – in the third (C. 3, 7 – 4, 36) the struggle reaches the peak that it could reach for now – in the fourth (C. 4, 37 – 5, 43) Jesus, after having brilliantly proven His superiority over the Jewish people, proves His superiority over the indignation and self-will of nature in a series of colossal miracles. |
| 244/245 | Nun die Frage, die uns wiederum zu einer Vergleichung der drei synoptischen Evangelien führt — die Frage, ob Mac- cus der Schöpfer des Urberichts ist — erst nach der Beantwortung derselben werden wir uns zur letzten Frage wenden können, wird es sich wenigstens vollends entscheiden, ob die Compilato- ren der Evangelien des Matthäus und Lukas das gegenwärtige Marcusevangelium, oder falls dasselbe vom Urbericht verschieden ist, die ursprünglichere Composition vor Augen hatten. | Now the question which again leads us to a comparison of the three synoptic Gospels – the question whether Mark is the creator of the original account – only after answering this question will we be able to turn to the last question, will it at least be fully decided whether the compilers of the Gospels of Matthew and Luke had the present Gospel of Marcus in mind, or if it differs from the original account, the more original composition. |
