faith-based scholarship? doesn’t that mean believing on faith, and then seeking the evidence to support that faith, which means the undermining of faith, because faith is only faith where there is no evidence? Or is it really just a game of “ha! ha! we got here first!” . . . — we got here before we had any evidence and you nonbelievers have finally caught up so much later after sifting through the evidence? Either way, there seems something decidedly unhealthy about trying to mix the arrogant confidence in having the answers with the search for knowing the right questions to ask and then not knowing where the study of the evidence will lead.
